The Brief Introduction of Institute of World Communist Movement of Liaocheng University and the Comparative Research Base of Chinese and Foreign Socialism in Shandong Province and the Research Base of World Socialist Communism Movement in Shandong Province
The Institute of World Communist Movement of Liaocheng University was founded in April 1985 and was called the "Communist International Research Office" at that time. In 1987, it was renamed "Communist International Institute" and in 1995 it was renamed "World Communist Movement Institute". There are currently 20 researchers, including 10 professors, 7 associate professors and 18 PhDs. After more than 30 years of construction, the Institute of World Communist Movement of Liaocheng University has developed into one of the important bases for teaching and research, data construction, advice and suggestions, and talent training in the fields of domestic and international communist movement history, ruling party construction, and Chinese and foreign political systems and so on.
In terms of discipline and degree program construction, since 1991, the discipline of scientific socialism and international communist movement of Liaocheng University has been continuously selected as the key discipline, strengthened key discipline or characteristic key discipline of Shandong Province in the "Eighth Five Year Plan", "Ninth Five Year Plan", "Tenth Five Year Plan", "Eleventh Five Year Plan" and "Twelfth Five Year Plan".In 2004, the Institute of World Communist Movement of Liaocheng University became one of the four research institutes under the Marxism research center of Shandong Province. In 2005, it was approved as the key research base of philosophy and social sciences in Shandong Province - the research base of world socialist communist movement in Shandong Province. In 2016, it was approved as the key research base of theoretical research and construction engineering in Shandong Province - the comparative research base of Chinese and foreign socialism in Shandong Province. In 2001, it was granted the master's degree program of scientific socialism and international communist movement.In 2003, it was granted the master's degree program of international politics. In 2010, it was approved as a master's degree program in the first level discipline of political science. In 2017, in the fourth round of discipline evaluation by the Ministry of Education, the first level discipline of political science ranked 46th in China, 3rd in Shandong Province and 1st in the Shandong provincial Party Schools and universities. In 2021, it was approved as a master's program in the first level discipline of Marxist theory.
In terms of scientific research,after years of academic accumulation, the Institute of the World Communist Movement has formed three relatively stable, closely related and distinctive research directions: the world socialist communist movement, party politics and the construction of the ruling party, and contemporary Chinese political and social development. In recent years, it has published more than 400 academic papers in Contemporary World and Socialism, Marxist Studies, Socialism Studies and other magazines, and published Study on the Evolution of the Mainstream Thought of the British Labor Party, Study on Lenin's Cultural Consciousness Thought, and Research on the Development of Consultative Democracy of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics and more than 20 academic books.It has won 16 national, provincial and ministerial scientific research awards, such as the excellent scientific research achievement award of colleges and universities of the Ministry of Education, the "five one projects" award of the Central Propaganda Department, and the excellent achievement award of Social Sciences of Shandong Province.It has been approved for 18 national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects such as the National Social Science Fund Project, the Humanities and Social Science Project of the Ministry of Education, and the Shandong Provincial Social Science Major Project.
In terms of teaching and personnel training, the Institute of World Communist Movement is mainly responsible for the teaching of political science and Marxist theory courses in undergraduate majors such as deological and political education, political science and administration, as well as the teaching of master's programs in the first level discipline of political science. By 2021, a total of 24 postgraduates have been admitted to the Renmin University of China, the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Shandong University, China Foreign Affairs University and other well-known universities for doctoral students.Over the years, a large number of high-level specialized talents and leading cadres have been sent to the country and society, and they have made great contributions to rejuvenating the country through science and education and rejuvenating Lu.
In terms of data construction, the Institute of World Communist Movement has an independent reference room, with a collection of more than 20000 books and 10000 newspapers and periodicals, covering political science, Marxist theory, history and other disciplines. In particular, it has a number of precious foreign language documents such as Comintern (English version), International News Newsletter (English version) (Russian version), Bolshevik (Russian version) and Socialist Party newsletter (English version). From 1985 to 1998, the Institute of World Communist Movement successively hosted Comintern research materials, Comintern research and world communist movement research magazine. Entrusted by the Propaganda Department of Shandong Provincial Party Committee, it hosted the internal materials of the dynamic Bulletin of the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe from 1989 to 1992. From 2000 to 2005,it cooperated with Renmin University of China to copy newspaper materials International Communist Movement and World Socialist Movement magazines.From 2004 to 2006, it co-organized the Contemporary World and Socialism magazine with the Bureau of Translation and Compilation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Since 2011, it has edited and published the annual academic journal The History of International Communist Movement and Socialism Studies.
In the construction of more than 30 years, the World Communist Institute has emerged many academic leaders with great influence in the domestic academic circle, such as Wang Lixun, Cheng Yuhai, Lin Jianhua, and Zhang Xiangyun. Professor Li Huafeng, the current discipline leader, is the director of China Society of international communist movement history, the director of China Society of international relations, the vice president of Shandong society of international politics and international communist movement, Qilu cultural talents in Shandong Province, high-end talents of Shandong think tank, the expert of "100 person project" of Shandong theoretical talents, the member of Shandong theoretical research and Construction Engineering Expert Committee, Doctoral supervisor of Shandong University and vice chairman of Liaocheng Federation of Social Sciences.
